What logins and passwords do I need for my WordPress & Divi site? How do I even log in to WordPress?
You basically have 3 parts to a WordPress website:
1. WordPress
Once you have everything set up, you’ll only need to log in here. This is where you can run all the updates and back ups and make all the changes you want.
You’ll use your email address for this one, so you’ll only need to save your password. If you lose it, you can reset it by sending a new one to your email.
To get to the log in page, type your domain name and then add /wp-admin. So, the WordPress login page is at: www.yourwebsite name.com/wp-admin
2. Your Hosting (SiteGround, GoDaddy, WPEngine, etc.)
You only need to set this a few times.
You’ll need to set it up at the beginning. You’ll also need to make sure that your site is secure through your hosting. This means that when you go to your site, you see a lock symbol on the left, as opposed to a warning saying ‘not secure’ in red letters.
When your hosting expires, they will send you an email to renew it (or you can set auto-renew). This will likely be once a year or once every 3 years. You just log in and pay your bill, like with any other service, and don’t have to touch anything else.
If things go sideways on your site (very unlikely), you can always log in here and try to reset or fix it.
2b. Domain (sometimes)
I highly recommend getting your domain from your hosting. You can get them from different places, but it saves a lot of headaches if you just use one place. However, if you already have a domain and want to get hosting somewhere else, it’s fine, really. It’s fine, I said.
3.(Divi Theme)
If you purchase the lifetime license, you only need to log in once, really. You’ll need to purchase, download the theme, and get the API key (a password). After that, you never have to log in again if you don’t want to.
But, if you need customer support, you can go here.
Plus, if you want tutorials or to look at layouts or get premade designs, you can look around on their site and they have a huge library of content.
